Project Overview

British Builders attended a property at Broadfield Walk, Birmingham to carry out bathroom leak repairs and associated clearance works. The inspection identified water ingress around the shower and tiled areas, requiring a more detailed repair approach to restore the bathroom to a watertight and reliable condition.

The works included checking the shower enclosure, tray edges, tiled walls, sealant lines, fittings, and affected areas around the bathroom. In addition, waste was cleared from inside the property and from the external garden areas using suitable disposal arrangements.

Scope of Work

• Investigated the source of the bathroom leak
• Checked the shower tray, wall tiles, fittings and sealant joints
• Removed failed sealant and prepared affected areas
• Re-grouted and re-siliconed the bathroom tiles
• Removed and refixed affected tiles where required
• Applied new adhesive and prepared substrate where needed
• Removed and re-secured the shower tray for proper sealing
• Sealed around the shower tray to prevent further leakage
• Checked the bathroom fittings to ensure they were secure
• Arranged skip hire and cleared waste from the property
• Removed waste from internal areas and front/rear garden spaces

Challenges & Solutions

• The leak affected several areas around the shower — Our team repaired the sealant, grout lines and tray edges to restore waterproofing.
• Some tiles required additional attention — Affected tiles were removed, prepared and refixed using suitable materials.
• The shower tray needed a secure watertight finish — It was lifted where required, properly sealed and fixed back into position.
• The property also required clearance — Waste was collected from internal and external areas and disposed of correctly.

Final Outcome

The bathroom was made watertight again, with the affected grout, silicone, tile and shower tray areas repaired to help prevent further water damage. The shower area was checked after completion to ensure the fittings were secure and the repaired sections were properly sealed.

The additional waste clearance was also completed, leaving the property cleaner, safer and ready for continued use.
