Bathroom Shower and Leak Repairs — Hobson Street, Stockport

Project Overview

British Builders attended a property on Hobson Street in Stockport to complete bathroom remedial repairs following reported leakage issues and defective installation works.

The bathroom required a coordinated repair visit covering shower fittings, the shower screen, tiled grout lines and toilet pan movement. The works were completed as a wider leak-prevention and finishing package rather than a small isolated repair.

New compatible shower fittings were supplied and installed, including a shower hose, handset and mixer connection. A new shower screen was fitted and sealed, affected tile joints were regrouted, and the toilet pan was secured and resealed to reduce movement and help prevent future leakage.

Challenges & Solutions

• Leakage issue — The works addressed both visible water escape points and poor finishing.
• Defective shower fittings — New compatible hose, handset and mixer components were fitted and tested.
• Water escaping from shower area — A new shower screen was positioned and sealed to improve containment.
• Incomplete grout — Affected grout lines were removed and renewed for better water resistance.
• Toilet pan movement — The toilet was refitted, secured and resealed at the base.

Final Outcome

The bathroom remedial repair works were completed successfully.

The defective shower fittings were replaced, the new shower screen was fitted and sealed, and affected tiled areas were regrouted. The toilet pan was also secured and resealed to reduce movement and improve protection around the WC area.

The bathroom was left cleaner, more functional and better protected against further water escape, with all visible repair areas checked before completion.
