Wall Boarding, Plastering and Painting Works — Naval Terrace, Sheerness, Kent

Project Overview

British Builders attended a residential property on Naval Terrace in Sheerness, Kent, to complete wall boarding, plastering and painting works within an internal toilet and surrounding wall area.

The existing wall had visible damage, exposed backing, loose material and uneven sections that were not suitable for direct decoration. The damaged area was prepared, unsuitable material was removed where required, and plasterboard was installed to create a stable base.

The repaired section was plastered, allowed to dry properly across return visits, then decorated with two coats of emulsion paint to blend with the surrounding finish as closely as possible. The completed works left the room cleaner, safer and more presentable.

Scope of Work
  • Inspection of damaged wall area and surrounding finishes
  • Assessment of exposed backing, loose plaster and uneven surfaces
  • Removal of damaged or unsuitable wall material where required
  • Preparation of wall area before boarding and plastering
  • Supply and installation of plasterboard to the affected section
  • Making good around board joints, corners and adjoining finishes
  • Plastering and skimming to create a smooth surface
  • Return visits to allow plaster drying and curing
  • Preparation and painting with two coats of emulsion
  • Clean-down, waste removal and final finish check

Challenges & Solutions
  • Damaged wall surface — Loose and uneven areas were prepared and stabilised before boarding.
  • Adjoining wall sections — Surrounding areas were adjusted to create a cleaner edge and better finish.
  • Existing fittings — Work was completed carefully around the toilet, window, skirting and corners.
  • Drying time — The job was completed over several visits to protect the plaster finish.
  • Matching the finish — Two coats of emulsion helped blend the repaired section with the room.

Final Outcome

The wall boarding, plastering and painting works were completed successfully.

The damaged wall area was prepared, boarded and plastered to create a smoother and more stable surface. Additional adjoining sections were made good where required to avoid an uneven or unfinished appearance.

Once dry, the wall was painted with two coats of emulsion, leaving the room cleaner, safer and more presentable. All waste was removed and the area was left tidy on completion.
