Bathroom Tap Repair and Sanitary Sealant Renewal β Broadway House, Bromley
Project Overview
British Builders attended Broadway House, High Street, Bromley, to complete approved bathroom and kitchen maintenance works, including toilet seat replacement, dripping tap repair and renewal of failed silicone sealant.
The works covered the WC, bathroom tap, bath perimeter, bathroom wash basins and kitchen wash basin rear edge. Defective silicone was removed where required and replaced with high-grade sanitary silicone to improve water tightness and reduce the risk of future staining, mould or hidden damage.
The dripping tap was inspected and repaired where possible, with allowance for a replacement valve/cartridge or full tap replacement if needed. A new standard soft-close toilet seat was fitted, aligned and tested, and all completed areas were checked, cleaned and left ready for use.
Scope of Work
- Inspection of bathroom, WC and kitchen wet areas
- Removal and replacement of damaged toilet seat
- Secure fitting, alignment and operation check of new soft-close seat
- Isolation and inspection of dripping bathroom tap
- Tap strip-down, internal repair and functional testing where required
- Removal of failed silicone from kitchen basin, bathroom basins and bath perimeter
- Cleaning and preparation of surfaces before resealing
- Application of new high-grade sanitary silicone to wet areas
- Final checks and clean-down of bathroom and kitchen work areas
Challenges & Solutions
- Multiple repair points β The bathroom and kitchen items were completed as one coordinated maintenance visit.
- Dripping tap β The fitting was stripped down, checked and repaired using suitable replacement parts where required.
- Failed silicone β Defective sealant was removed fully rather than patched for a cleaner, longer-lasting finish.
- Neat sealant lines β Surfaces were prepared properly before new sanitary silicone was applied.
- Toilet seat alignment β The new soft-close seat was positioned and fixed securely for stable use.
Final Outcome
The approved bathroom and kitchen maintenance works were completed successfully.
The toilet seat was replaced, the bathroom tap was repaired where possible, and failed silicone was renewed across the affected wet areas. The completed works improved usability, appearance and water resistance, with all areas left clean, tidy and ready for use.
